Optimization of Crystallization of Ergotamine Tartrate Using Focused Beam Reflectance Measurement Laser Probe

Abstrakt

The focused beam reflectance measurement (FBRM) laser was used for optimization of ergotamine tartrate crystallization. It was found that the solvent-mediated polymorph (AD) transformation occurs at ca. 0 °C and results in a significant change of chord length distribution caused by different shapes of crystals of both polymorphs. FBRM was used for preparation of ergotamine tartrate, polymorph A of good physical quality.
