Abstract

Genetically modified organisms and the derived food and feed are subject to legal restrictions. A number of EU regulations determine GMOs which may appear on the market and their contents in food and feed. These restrictions require accurate and sensitive methods for identification and quantification of GM products by PCR.  Moreover, the threat of unauthorized GMO import necessitates the search for new approaches and methods.
