GC/MS Determination of Nitrated Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Atmosphere

Abstrakt

An analytical method for the determination of nitrated polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in air was developed. Samples were collected on a combined quartz and polyurethane foam filter, extracted and purified using column chromatography and HPLC. The nitrated hydrocarbons were analysed by gas chromatography - mass spectrometry. The detection limit is below 0.02 ng/m3 of ambient air.
