Abstract

Laboratory respirators are equipped with a set of filters for cleaning the breathing gas. Current filters are mechanical, which are based on the particle/pore size ratio. No abiotic substance avoiding pore obstruction with microbes when the particles are retained in filter is present. A multilayer nanofabric with Ag and Cu ions guarantees fast elimination of microbes trapped in filter thus allowing perfect and reliable filtration. The nanofabric can be tailor-made to fit in most filters independently of the breathing gas used.
