Abstract

Economic consequences of restrictions resulting from legislative requirements imposed on the product and its production safety as well as of the restrictions resulting from the requirements of the public from the plant neighbourhood for its operation. The possibilities of affecting the restrictions by the producers are discussed. Specific examples of activities of chemical producers in the Czech Republic aimed at forming relations without conflicts of the company and people in the neighbourhood. Examples are described of measures taken in plants to restrict emissions of evil-smelling chemicals into atmosphere and water, measures to restrict noise emission and examples of dealing with old environmental burdens. Examples of cooperation of company management with local public administration are also given.
