Protein Metabolism in Skeletal Muscles
Abstract
Skeletal muscles are very sensitive to external factors with regard to the rates of protein synthesis and degradation. Manifestation of the nutritional effect depends on the age of the animal and also on the fibre profile of the muscle. The review summarizes the knowledge of the nutritional effect on protein metabolism in different types of skeletal muscles as well as in its regulation by branched-chain amino acids and by insulin.Downloads
