Abstract

Screening smokes were and still are used in the military for protecting of own corps against an enemy. Within the last decades a development of advanced optoelectronic reconnaissance means and very precise weapons raised a new interest in their usage. There were proved technical benefits of screening phosphorous smokes made from plastified composites based on the red phosphorus with an epoxide resin binder, that absorb the visible and infrared radiation. High values of a screening capability against the radiation of these smokes were achieved i.e. at field measurements with fast protection smoke grenades, predestine them as one of the effective screening precautions. Generated smokes of this nature are not deemed to be toxicologically and environmentally defective.
