Abstract

The review evaluates the methods for decomposition of biological materials which are currently used in trace-element determinations by destructive techniques, in particular in atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy and electroanalysis. Attention is paid especially to classical and modern versions of dry ashing and wet digestion. Also other decomposition techniques are briefly discussed. The reviewed literature dates from the second half of eighties to the presence. The comparison and combination of individual decomposition methods are also included.
