Effects of Nonisometric Pigment Particles in Organic Coatings for Corrosion Protection
Abstract
The paper deals with the effects of nonisometric pigments on anticorrosion properties of coating films. Optimum concentrations of iron mica, muscovite, and graphite in coatings were determined. The results obtained with the natural iron mica were compared with those obtained for the synthetic product. Epoxy resins, polyurethane, and alkyd resins were used in the coatings. Pigmentation with iron mica considerably enhances the protection function of top coatings in corrosive media.Downloads
