This paper describes use of hydrogel (Chitosan) as a medium for a transport of metallic plasmonactive nanostructures of various dimensions and shapes from the solid state substrate to the Chitosan foil and subsequently into the stabilized water-based solution. It is a versatile method enabling the transport of nanoparticles from physically and chemically varied types of substrates. There could also be different methods for nanoparticle preparation. The transport yield was confirmed and studied via microscopic and spectroscopic techniques. Furthermore, a preparation of silver nanowires on the laser modified PET substrate was described, being the main subject for the study of the transport process.
